Primark announces opening date for third Dubai store at Mall of the Emirates
Budget fashion retailer continues rapid rollout across key shopping destinations in UAE
DUBAI – Dubai’s retail landscape is set for another high-profile addition as Primark confirms the opening date of its third store in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The budget fashion giant will welcome shoppers at Mall of the Emirates (MOE) on May 21 at 3pm, marking another milestone in its fast-paced expansion across the city.
The announcement follows its debut at Dubai Mall on March 26 and a second launch at City Centre Mirdif on April 9, completing a rapid three-store rollout within weeks.
Primark store launch
The MOE opening has been officially teased by Primark and its regional partner Alshaya Group through social media, with an invitation-style post reading “Hello, you are invited.”
The announcement captioned “Mall of the Emirates fans… you asked, we listened!” confirmed long-standing speculation among shoppers eager for the brand’s arrival.
Positioned within the Dh5 billion redevelopment of Mall of the Emirates, the store joins a wider transformation titled the “Mall of New Possibilities”, which is introducing global names such as Skims and Ulta Beauty. The Primark store is expected to mirror its Dubai counterparts, offering a wide selection of affordable fashion, beauty, homeware and lifestyle products.
Retail expansion
The opening reflects Primark’s aggressive UAE growth strategy, delivered in partnership with Alshaya Group and Majid Al Futtaim. The retailer had previously outlined plans for three flagship stores in Dubai, strategically placed in high-footfall destinations.
Industry reports suggest the city is being used as a regional hub for the brand’s Middle East expansion, with large-format stores designed to serve both residents and tourists.
The Mall of the Emirates location is expected to attract shoppers from Al Barsha, Dubai Marina and along Sheikh Zayed Road, complementing the coverage offered by its Dubai Mall and Mirdif branches.
Shopper buzz
Previous launches at Dubai Mall and City Centre Mirdif saw strong turnout, with queues forming as early as opening hours and sustained crowds throughout launch days. Similar excitement is expected when doors open at MOE, with anticipation already building across social media platforms.
Comments from shoppers have included requests for further expansion beyond Dubai, including calls for a store in Abu Dhabi.
Behind the rollout, supply chain preparations were completed well in advance, with stock arriving in the UAE more than a month before the first store opened, ensuring full collections were available from day one.
